Al's Drum School is proud to announce that we have been officially selected as a Trinity Champion Centre for 2026-2027 by Trinity College London — one of the world's leading international exam boards and independent education charities.

This is a huge milestone for our team, our students, and our community here in Brighton and Hove, and we're incredibly honoured to receive this recognition.

What is a Trinity Champion Centre?

Trinity College London has been providing assessments around the world since 1877, specialising in the assessment of communicative and performance skills across music, drama, combined arts, and English language. With over 850,000 candidates a year in more than 60 countries worldwide, Trinity qualifications are specifically designed to help students progress and develop the skills needed in real life.

Trinity Champion Centres are selected by Trinity College London for their successful delivery of Trinity qualifications. They are recognised for demonstrating strong exam results, an exciting programme of performance events, a notable approach to delivering performing arts qualifications, and evidence of the positive impact their offer has on learners.

Champion Centres are expected to inspire other organisations by sharing their practice and advocating for accreditation in their communities and more widely. It is a recognition awarded only to centres that meet Trinity's high standards, and we are thrilled to be among them.

What this means for Al's Drum School

Being named a Trinity Champion Centre is a reflection of everything we have worked to build at Al's Drum School since our founding in 2018. From day one, our mission has been simple: to deliver the highest standard of drum tuition in an environment where every student feels supported, challenged, and inspired.

As a Trinity College London accredited centre, our students already have the opportunity to work towards officially recognised drumming qualifications and sit their exams in-house with our own accredited examiners. This Champion Centre status takes things a step further — it is Trinity's way of saying that what we are doing here in Brighton is working, and working well.

This recognition belongs to our students as much as it belongs to us. Their dedication, their progress, and their passion for the drums are what made this possible. We would also like to thank every parent, carer, and supporter who has been part of this journey — your encouragement and trust in us means everything.

Drum lessons in Brighton and Hove

Al's Drum School is based at Fort Rockaville Studios in Portslade, Brighton, and is the South of England's fastest growing drum school. We currently teach nearly 250 students every single month through a range of learning options including in-studio lessons, online lessons via Zoom, on-demand courses, and our in-school programme which delivers drum tuition in primary and secondary schools across Sussex.

Our team of professional, DBS-checked instructors includes touring musicians with multiple Top 40 UK Album credits, and every lesson is tailored to the individual student — whether they are a complete beginner picking up sticks for the first time or an experienced player preparing for their next grade.

We welcome students of all ages and all levels. If you are based in Brighton and Hove, across Sussex, or anywhere in the world via our online lessons, we would love to welcome you to the Al's Drum School family.
